Founded in 2026 by Margate-born artist Tamara Phoenix, Mooch Margate was created from a passion for art, community and the town that has always inspired her.

After graduating from The Margate School of Art, Tamara wanted to create a gallery that celebrated both creativity and the unique spirit of Margate. Located in the heart of Dreamland, a place where she spent many years working from her teenage years, Mooch couldn't have found a more fitting home.

Having experienced first-hand the barriers that many artists face, including the lack of accessible opportunities and the exclusivity that can exist within the art world, Tamara envisioned something different. Mooch was founded as an inclusive platform where both emerging and established artists with connections to Margate could exhibit and sell work inspired by the town, its coastline and the iconic Dreamland.

More than just a gallery, Mooch is about building a creative community. By offering affordable exhibition opportunities and removing many of the financial barriers that artists often encounter, Mooch gives creatives the chance to showcase their work, connect with new audiences and support one another.

Today, Mooch Margate proudly celebrates the talent, diversity and creativity of Margate's artistic community, inviting visitors to discover original artwork and take home a genuine piece of the town.
